My main areas of expertise include cross-cultural communication, conflict management, teambuilding across cultures, workplace harassment, social-emotional skills, drug and alcohol prevention, change management, leadership, and teambuilding.
I have been in the training and consulting field since 1979, when I first presented at the Colorado Association for Bilingual Education.
I have worked in nearly every state in the United States including Guam and Puerto Rico, as well as many countries including Vietnam, Japan, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Canada, Germany, and Italy. I am fluent in English and Spanish, with formal education in ASL, French, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, and German.
I hold a Masters degree from University of Washington in Higher Education/Adult Learning, with an emphasis on Bilingual/Bicultural education. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Arizona State University, with an emphasis on minority relations.
I hold multiple cross-cultural certifications from the International Communications Institute, as well as certification Citizen's Police Academy from the City of Portland Police Bureau.
