How I work
Portillo Consulting, International uses a variety of tools, learned over years of experience, to lead your group to success.
Some of these tools include:
Light and heavy facilitation: determining when input is group directed compared to when a specific task needs to be done that requires great specificity but little opinion or creativity
Individual Skills: identifying individuals' skills and incorporating them in the group process design “A guide not the side, not a sage on the stage”: helping the group decide what is important to them without inserting the facilitator’s own agenda
Varied presentation: varying the techniques in which information is presented to correspond to all ways of learning and understanding (auditory, visual, kinesthetic), as well as varying the formats in which they are shared (metaphor, story, visuals, charts, physical activities, etc)
Varied decision-making processes: varying the way decisions are made, depending on the significance of the decision (eg. Fist to Five, Levels of Concern)
Varied response strategies: varying the ways that individuals can respond and discuss, including collaboration, cooperation, solo think time, small groups)
